Juliane Henrich studied writing, art and film in Leipzig, Berlin, and Jerusalem. She graduated with honors from the University of the Arts Berlin in 2012 and was part of the Graduate School for Moving Image at Art School Kassel from 2020 to 2023.
Her work often deals with the way spaces change and how new technologies enhance these transformations.
The films and video installations have been shown at international film festivals and art exhibitions, including the Berlinale, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Duisburg Documentary Film Week, DOK Leipzig, ZKM Karlsruhe, Visions du Réel in Nyon, the Images Festival in Toronto, and at various Goethe Institutes. The Goethe Institute Argentina and DocBuenosAires featured her work in a mono­graphic show.
Recent venues have been Werkleitz Media Art festival and Kunstverein exhibitions at Wiesbaden and Kassel. In 2018, she was an artist in residence at Villa Aurora, Los Angeles. Her films are distributed by Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art, Berlin. Since 2022 she has been developing her new art-project as part of the artistic research-group "Resonanzräume" at Hochschule RheinMain Wiesbaden where she also teaches in the film and architecture department.
